A calm room for memory care.
Slow Florida scenes and soft sound on a wall or TV. Staff start a session in seconds when a resident gets restless.

What a room includes
One room, ready on day one.
A corner of an activity room or a whole quiet room. We quote by the size of the room and do no structural work.
The screen and soundA wall projection or the TV you already have
A short-throw projector or your TV, soft speakers, and dimmable light. Cords stay out of reach, there is nothing to trip on, and the volume has a cap. No flashing or strobe content, ever.
Staff start, skip or dim a session from one remote.
Florida scenes your residents knowSprings, manatees, the Gulf, old Florida
Slow, real footage with soft sound, in themed sets. New scenes are added through the year.

A 30-minute staff trainingLed by a registered nurse
When to offer a session, how to start one, and how to log it. We train the staff who work the late-afternoon hours, when restlessness peaks.
A session log and a 90-day reportNumbers from your own building
We compare the 90 days before the room with the 90 days after: behavior episodes and as-needed calming medication doses, taken from your own logs.
Only monthly totals leave the building. No names, no charts.
Paying for it
Two ways facilities fund a room.
Nursing homes
Civil Money Penalty (CMP) reinvestment funds
CMS allows up to $6,000 per project for “Activities to Improve Quality of Life” (QSO-25-26-NH). Our Calm Corner is built to that number.
- You apply through Florida’s AHCA.
- We hand you the project description, budget and evaluation plan.
Assisted living with memory care
Florida’s new memory care license, s. 429.076
AHCA’s rules are due by this date and must set minimum activities for memory care residents.
- A program you can name and document: the room, the training, the log and the report.
- Nonprofits may also qualify for outside grants. We help with the application.
A calm room does not make a facility compliant or licensed, and nothing here is legal advice. Ask AHCA or your own counsel about your requirements.
Designed by a nurse
Built around how a memory care floor runs.
Still Water Rooms was started by Brady Cox, MSN, RN, a Florida registered nurse and former New York State EMT. Every room is planned with care staff, not sold off a catalog. Check the Florida RN license.
